When it comes to the sales of the 3rd instalments you also need to keep in mind they're standalone sales. Diamond and pearl together sold around 17million units, so each game sold around 8.5 million. Platinum at 7.6 mil is not far off from that

no, you're wrong. given that 3 years have passed, which is an eon in terms of the switch's lifetime, an increase from 16 to 20 million purchases (given that more people have switches now) is entirely proportional and not impressive at all.
Hear me out here guys:
Look up a picture of dragalge and then eternatus. Notice any similarities? Ther typing is the same, too. Eternatus is from a long time ago, right? I think that Eternatus is a past paradox dragalge. However, its base stat total and power in general rivals that of koraidon and miraidon, the most powerful paradox pokemon that we know of, so eternatus would have to be on a whole other level, maybe even on the level of power that the disk pokemon who created the paradox pokemon is on. Plus, the other theories do suggest that Eternatus and the Disk Pokemon are somehow connected, which sort of wraps up my theory.
How about we go back to when the entire game was available at launch and not sold in pieces as dlc

With Pokemon games they could just ignore the issues and get away with it (BdSp are an example, but wasn't GF to be fair). However, glad to see that the number refunded early on got enough attention to lead to patches. Promising for future games but hope they don't keep launching in the condition ScVi did.

We don't like scarlet and violet we bought the game because it's a new generation but this has to be the worst pokemon game they've ever made
Another thing on the best selling pokemon games, if you consider the fact that all these games are 2 separate games (except rgb which is 3 of course) Legends: Arceus sold better then all of them if you divide them by 2 (again ignoring rgb)

Pokémon sales probably combine the versions together this is the reason why red/blue/green as so high up in sales because the units are combined. Crystal and emerald are stand alone as far as the count of units sold.
