1. Although Jynx’s design origins don’t have racial implications and has since been changed, it’s important to acknowledge that Jynx’s RBY design probably had some racial implications. I mean fakemon creators have shown that you can do Jynx’s concept and design origins without making look so… “controversial”. Also we I don’t think we should just write this off as people being sensitive, as from the perspective of outside of the Pokemon community, Jynx looks like black face, well at least RBY. (Also I think bellesoom was fine)

9. Gengar also changed from a very dark purple to that gawdy bright purple it is today. Since Gen 3 it's been brighter. I miss when Gengar actually looked like the Shadow Pokémon and not a cartoony ghost.

15. Celebi from Spaceworld too. Celebi was originally designed after the Native American mythological god of fertility, Kokopelli, sporting a mainly black body, big white circular eyes, a hunched posture, and several long head protrusions, strikingly similar to Kokopelli. We have no idea if Celebi was changed to avoid controversy or merely to steer the design into a new direction.

32. The edit for jynx and smoochum are nice. Reminds me how breath of fire war of the goddess redoes Karn, and Akira Toriyama's manga theater fixes Peter in Dub & Peter. A shame best they can do with dragon ball is blue popo lol but at least super has a nice looking black female teacher for Pan. Surprisingly, none of these stereotype appearances are unlikable characters if you can look past their bad designs.

33. Jynx was such a nothingburger. Its skin is meant to be frostbitten. Frostbitten skin is black & swells your lips up.

44. Another one that was redesigned due to potential controversy; although on a much smaller scale, is Alakazam. Alakazam in Pokemon Green had the Star of David on his/her forehead.

45. As for Pokemon redesigned outside of controversy; Pikachu used to be a chubby boy/girl, Delcatty had a moon mark on his/her forehead, and Skarmory used to have double tails.

46. What about fat Pikachu becoming thin over the years?
