That’s the second time Meowth is wearing a Sunflora costume
What I love so much about this episode is that this is one of those episodes where ash deserves to get humbled hard. He was being so cocky and overconfident and thinking he is better than the other grass type trainers in this tournament all because he won the orange island league. Heck, he even said it himself that he didn’t need to train the day before the tournament because he thought this was going to be super easy for him. Meanwhile the kid and his skiploom were training so hard for days, and thus both that and ash’s overconfidence is what brought ash to his downfall. That’s what ash gets for thinking he is better than everyone 😆
And believe me, this isn’t the only time ash gets humbled! I think the next time this happens is in the Hoenn series where he challenges the second gym.
But yeah, I love the message of this ep, that just because you are pretty good at something, it doesn’t mean you are far superior than those who are talented in the same thing. That it doesn’t mean you have to be an overconfident show off jerk. Never forget to be humble.
