Omanyte is Pokémon No.0138, a Rock/Water-type Pokémon.
It is a Fossil Pokémon based on an ancient ammonite, with a large spiral shell and ten tentacles connected to its head.
Omanyte once lived in the ancient sea.
It moved through the water by twisting its ten legs while adjusting its buoyancy with air stored inside its shell.
Its shell also worked as an emergency shelter.
When attacked by predators such as Archeops, Omanyte would hide inside its hard shell to protect itself.
Omanyte is extinct in the wild today.
The ones Trainers can obtain are revived from fossils using restoration technology.
However, some revived Omanyte have escaped from Trainers or been released into nature, and this has started to become a problem.
In the games, Omanyte evolves into Omastar at level 40.
