Even though I rarely see the P-61, one thing I know is that attacking from the rear is a certain death sentence, since the turret is positioned at the 6 o'clock position while on standby, so it will be ready to fight at any moment. Even with this, attacking from the front is also not a great option, since the enemy pilot will most likely detect you and already swivel the turret over towards your position. The only viable option could and would be from the 10-2 o'clock low positions. Of course, don't take this advice for granted, since I have only combatted the P-61 around 2-3 times.
