  1. Its like theyre monsters you could say, pocket monsters. Monsters that fit in your pocket, pocketmons, pokemon if you will~

  2. Interesting video. Two other points I would bring up:

    – Pokemon have DNA, and (according to folk tales) they are biologically related to humans. This means that the best model for thinking about them is not alien life, it's alternate-timeline Earth life!
    – Miltank produces milk and lays eggs. So I feel like we can't say that laying eggs rules out the possibility that Pokemon are mammals.

    That said, egg groups are definitely the best way to think about Pokemon taxononomy, not the parallels to categories in our world.

  3. While in the Pokemon world each species has its number, I think by our standards all Pokemon are one species and what they call species is kind of like the difference between a Great Dane, a

    Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and a Beagle. My proof of this is Ditto. So if Ditto lays eggs, it makes sense they all do. Yeah Exeggutor screws this up a bit since Exeggcute is more than one egg, but I'm sticking to this.
