  6. This September I went to meet a long distance friend who lives on the Piave river, where a decisive battle was fought in 1918 against the austro hungarians. As she was taking me to the place where the famous ace Francesco Baracca was shot down and killed, it was impossible not to think about this theme and those brave young men who gave their lives to defend Italy.     Deafened by the sounds of artilleries and gunfire
    Amidst the chaos he suddenly turned blank-faced
    All gunfire suddenly stopped
    In front of him lies yards of green meadows
    Accompanied by clear blue skies
    "Is the war finally ended?"
    He smiled
    Walked slowly
    Eyes closed
    Enjoyed fresh air with arms open
    He opened his eyes
    Artillery strikes right in front of him
    He finally got the peace that he wanted

  27. Researching my family history and WW1 in general, I visited Europe from Australia visiting many battlefields and landmarks. Ten years after that trip I played BF1 for the first time. When I flew as the pigeon, and heard this music, no shame, tears were on my face. So too when completing The Runner. I couldn't believe what they'd done with this game. I appreciate it and wonder if we'll ever see such respect and pathos in gaming again. Lest we forget.

  28. We were at the beach a few weeks ago. And at the end of the day there was this incredible sunset.

    Lots of ppl just standing around watching this show of nature.

    I connected my phone to the speaker and just as the sun dipped into the ocean i played this.

    That was the best moment of the best day of this summer.

  41. The sheer number of beasts, including but not limited to horses, dogs, and pigeons, strapped up and brought to fight in man’s wars without any choice. Just so sad to think about the mark we’ve left on this earth
