For some geckos, they go theough fasting periods before shedding and as they shed they consume their old skin, but it's important to note that this is their natural behavior and they should be allowed to shed on their own. Stepping in is important to make sure no shed is left on their toes, eyes, or tail, but only after. Also, blowing underneath the skin as seen in the beginning of the video is not recommended. If the skin is not already pealed up you should not force it so harshly. It can cause small tears in the skin below it, and may cause issues in the future.
